Attenuation Medium Gravity*

  • 76% – 80%

Attenuation High Gravity*

  • 78% – 80%  (10.5% – 11.0% ABV)

Temperature Range

  • 18˚C – 25˚C  (64˚F – 77˚F)

  • Medium

Representative Styles:

  • Barley Wine
  • Bitter
  • India Pale Ale
  • Pale Ale
  • Scotch Ale
  • Stout

* Attenuation was measured after 8 days with Ale yeast at 70˚F and Lager yeast at 50˚F.  Medium Gravity is 14˚ – 16˚Plato.  High Gravity is 23˚- 25˚Plato.

The working temperature range represents the range at which fermentation for a given strain produces a typical attenuation- not necessarily the ideal temperature for your particular beer style.  As a rule of thumb, start ale yeast fermentation at 68˚ – 72˚F and then lower or raise temp as desired.  Lager Yeast are typically fermented at 45˚ – 58˚F.  If desired, Lager Yeast can be given a “hot start” at 65-68˚F and then lowered to the primary temperature after active fermentation begins (10 – 20hrs).

If you haven’t tried this yeast you need to, great yeast and now my go to for IPA, and anything else American styled.

Fantastic Yeast. Made a 1.5litre starter and pitched into an american ipa with a OG of 1.065. Took off after a few hours, down to 1.030 2 days in and then finished at 1.012 after 6days. Will definitely use again.

Pitched straight from 5 week old gold pitch pack into 16 degrees C, 1.054 OG wort. 30-40 hour lag time. Raised beer temp to 20-22 degrees C and active fermentation occurred for another 4 days with a krausen that just reached my blow off tube. FG 1.013 and one of the best Pale Ales I’ve made with wonderful clarity, head retention and unimpeded hop flavours.

My second time using a GigaYeast product, and once again had a great experience. I’m in the habit of overbuilding starers for my yeast bank, and this strain definitely has the potential to become my “go to” for Pale Ales and IPAs. Attenuated fully and quickly leaving a very clean flavour profile (fermented at 18C), and dropped nice and clear in the keg. Will replace WLP001 for me.

Very solid yeast! Great attenuation with a clean flavour profile. Highly recommend.

First time using a liquid yeast & having it shipped to Perth I was a little bit worried how yeast would hold up
The packaging & delivery was 100%
Made a pale ale in the Grainfather put into fermenter at 12pm by 5pm she was away
Came out as the best beer ive brewed
