Adjuncts

Adjuncts were traditionally frowned upon due to the often cited German “Reinheitsgebot,” a purity law promulgated in 1516 that allowed only the use of water, malted barley and hops. However, Adjuncts which include candi syrup, brown sugar and more are used by brewers to create different flavours into beer and improve mouthfeel, head retention and clarity. Do not frown, rejoice that you are not locked into tradition by 1516 Germans on a mission to control rather than create – celebrate Adjuncts!
