Gladfield Manuka Smoke Malt is made from the finest New Zealand Pilsner malt & smoked over 100% native Manuka wood from the West Coast of NZ. Smooth Smoke character that is both floral and sweet.



Gladfield Malt take their top quality Canterbury, NZ distilling barley varieties and smoke it over 100% Manuka wood from the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand.

Gladfield Manuka Smoke Malt is smooth and overlaid with floral, sweet characteristics.  Manuka Smoke Malt can be used either for brewing or distilling.

Perfect for a Kiwi twist to a Rauchbier or in any other beer style where a level of smokiness is required.  Manuka Smoke Malt can be used anywhere from 1% to 100% depending on the required smoke level.

Manuka Smoke malt is also excellent when distilled, and imparts a smooth, natural smokiness with distinct manuka notes to the finished whisky that is unique to New Zealand.

Gladfield Manuka Smoke Malt is a truly unique malt using a native tea tree to New Zealand long revered for its therapeutic properties by indigenous and modern day New Zealand.

    I first made a SMaSH pale ale with the Manuka malt (and Kohatu hops) and was blown away. It’s one of those things where, once you try it, you’ll keep looking for excuses to use it. It’s not too sweet or ashen, and is great to add a long finish to a dry beer.

    I used this in a Rauchbier and Smoked Robust Porter rather than European smoked malt. It gave both a subtle, smooth and sweet smokey flavour and aroma. I will be using this for all my smoked beers now knowing that it will be fresh and give consistent results.

    I have made a hoppy smoke porter with this Manuka Smoke Malt twice now, my first experience with smoked malts, sensational. Looking for more beers to smoke up. Smoky Red IPA next….

    Made a smoked stout with this malt and the flavour is absolutely amazing, smooth and very distinct compared to other smoked malts.
